It is featured in Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Fragmentary Passage and in Cyber Troopers Virtual-On MARZ.
Overview
A Shadow is essentially the unconscious desires that lie deep beyond human reason. V-Crystals have the effect of amplifying these urges, creating Shadow. Because V-Converters are powered by V-Discs, which are made of V-Crystals, it makes Virtuaroid pilots vulnerable to the Shadow. Once contaminated, the effects cannot be undone. Shadow-contaminated VRs, which are identified by a menacing black and red color scheme, are extremely dangerous, with their performance enhanced beyond their original specifications, that which is seen during gameplay in the Dramatic Mode of MARZ.
